Power of the Pen: Cadis and their Archives

A study of the archives of Islamic judges and their institutional importance from a long-term perspective, from the middle of the eighth century onwards. Müller will situate this paper in the context of his forthcoming article “La fabrique de la Charia” (The fabric of Sharia) and of his current project, a monograph on the history of Islamic law.
