scope of the Center for the Study of Muslim Societies (CSMS). These selected theses explore Islam and Muslim societies across regions and historical periods, addressing topics from law, Sufism, and material culture to gender, politics, and migration. Together, they demonstrate the breadth of our students’ research and the connections that shape Muslim societies worldwide
