NOW OPEN | FLAS Fellowships Application

Applications for Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship for the Academic Year 2018-19 and Summer 2018 are now available online.

  • FLAS scholarships are open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents whose programs combine modern foreign language training with international or area studies. 

  • Undergraduate and graduate students may only apply to study Intermediate or Advanced level of language proficiency.

  • Applications must include: completed online application form, statement of purpose, two letters of recommendations, and academic transcripts.

  • Deadlines vary based on the World Area of Concentration selected in the online application.
    Middle East: February 12, 2018, 11:59 P.M.
    South Asia: February 26, 2018, 11:59 P.M.
