On Thursday November 5th, the Students Organize for Syria (SOS) will be holding a benefit concert with renowned Syrian musician Malek Jandali and the Malek Jandali trio, consisting of Abdulrahim Alsaidi on the oud and cellist Laura Metcalf.
All revenues from the event will be donated to Save the Children Syrian Fund, which will be used to support educational infrastructure for refugees and provide needed supplies for those stranded outside of their home.
Tickets are $15 for all students, and $30 for non-Columbia University ID holders. Tickets are available for purchase here. Doors will be open by 6:30pm.
Students Organize for Syria (SOS) is a national, student-led organization that is committed to raising awareness about the crisis in Syria, and raising funds to help support Syrian people. SOS is a student-led movement that exists to assist the Syrian people in their effort to build a self-determined, pluralistic society by standing in solidarity with them, educating the public of their cause, and helping to alleviate the current humanitarian crisis in Syria.
