Author Tarek El-Ariss, Assistant Professor of Arabic Studies in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, will be launching his book "Trails of Arab Modernity." 

"Trials of Arab Modernity" challenges prevalent conceptualizations of modernity which treat it as a Western ideology or as a universal narrative of progress and innovation.
