H.M. Bizri is an American-Lebanese director, writer, and producer, born in Beirut, Lebanon. During this event, he will show three of his films and discuss his work, which has been shown at Sundance, Cannes, Berlin, Oberhausen, and Moscow International Film Festivals, Louvre Museum (Paris), the Doha Tribeca Film Festival, the Villa Medici (Rome), The American Academy in Rome, Beaux-Arts de Paris, Ayam Beirut Al Cinema'iya festival (Cinema Days of Beirut), The Anthology Film Archives, Biennale Des Cinema Arabes (Paris), Milan Film Festival, Walker Art Center (Minneapolis), Institut du Monde Arabe (Paris), Harvard Film Archives (Cambridge), Reina Sofia (Madrid), Museum of Modern Art (New York), Cinémathèque Française (Paris), Centre Pompidou (Paris), Cairo Opera House, among others.

This event is part of the Scheldon Scheps Seminar Series and sponsored by the Anthropology Department of Columbia University.
